Place your Instagrams were taken? Paris
Can you sum up Paris? Paris is mostly just what you imagine. Romantic, charming, elegant and stylish, no matter if it rains or shines. But sometimes it’s dirty, smelly, chaotic and noisy, a real melting pot. Above all, it’s an exciting place to live in.
What is a perfect day in Paris? Taking a bike ride early in the morning, on a warm, spring day, to do a whole day of cycling in the city and taking lots of photos. Then in the evening meeting up with friends to do a picnic by the St Martin Canal where people are gathering, eating, drinking, playing music and talking with strangers all around.
How long have you been using Instagram? Three years.
Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras or both? I shoot with a Fujifilm X-E2. I use my phone only if I forget to take my camera.
What is your editing process? I use my two favorite apps, Snapseed and VSCO Cam. If I need a super quality I will only do Lightroom edit.
Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? I don’t think so. I almost never compose for square, preferring landscape and portrait format. I was always cropping rectangular photos into a square. It’s no longer necessary and I’m pretty happy about it.
Can you give a couple tips to aspiring Instagram photographers? Don’t focus on likes, followers and popularity. Have fun while shooting, talk to people and stroll a lot. Enjoy the time spent in your city and try to find beauty in it.
