Gramercy by Mike Nolan in New York City, New York, USA

Photography is a way of me being able to capture the way I romanticize the things I look at. Showing this to people is so rewarding. This is the Veterans Hospital in Gramercy, where all around the area are housing complexes full of trees planted within them. It’s a very interesting scene to look at, it seems like a city coming out from a forest.

A perfect day in NYC? Waking up in the morning, grabbing a bagel and going out to skate with all the homies. Then taking some photos at night and relaxing with friends at the East River.

For the visitor? Experience the parts of New York that tourists don’t ever see.

A perfect meal in NYC? Two Bros, $1 slices of pizza, on 32 St. Marks Pl (between 3rd Ave & Astor Pl)

Locals only tip: The most popular places suck. Get out there and explore all the city has to offer!

A little known fact NYC fact? The bike bath along the East River is full of the homeless lurking everywhere you look, past 11pm.

Your favorite place in the world? Summit, on Long Island
