Tell us about Alpe d'Huez:

Incredible ski resort during the winter that not only has great slopes but an incredible town with fantastic bars and shops. The landscape of Alpe d’Huez really is something unique and is a major stage in the Tour de France.

A perfect day?

Getting supplies from the local bakery for breakfast and taking a morning stroll in the fresh mountain air. In the winter season there is nothing better than hitting the slopes for a few hours before coming home and relaxing for the evening.

What is the best thing about Alpe d'Huez?

As a landscape photographer, Alpe d’Huez provides endless opportunities. There is nothing more relaxing than taking a hike up the mountain by yourself and it being completely silent with just you, your camera and the landscape.

What is the worst?

Access to both large and specialist shops.

What would be surprising about Alpe d'Huez to an outsider?

The journey up the mountain road is spectacular.
