Tamanawas Falls by Amanda Leigh Smith in Tamanawas Falls, Oregon

The Tamanawas Falls trailhead is about an hour and a half east of Portland on the NE side of Mt Hood. The hike is fairly easy and about 3.5 miles round trip. I went during late winter and we did not need snow shoes, but they would have made me feel more stable as we got close to the icy falls. It is a beautiful hike through the forest and along a river until you get to the waterfall. Well worth the drive.
