The Dark Bar in Olympia, Washington, USA

Place you live: Olympia, Washington
Place your photo was taken: (should be where you live or within an hour car ride) A bar, often referred to as “The Dark Bar,” or the “Goth Bar.” (I don’t know the real name of the place.) Downtown Olympia.
Can you sum up Olympia? Other than being too wet for my tastes, Olympia is a beautiful town. It’s close to both Seattle and Portland, and is a fairly liberal community.
Occupation: Coordinator of Photography, at The Evergreen State College
Preoccupation: My 6 year old.
A perfect day in Olympia? Sometime in August– when the Olympic mountains and Mt. Rainier are visible, and having absolutely nothing to do but ride a bike, or hang out with friends on west facing deck.
If someone was visiting, what must they do? Take a walk along the waterfront.
A perfect meal in Olympia? Tacos in the bar at Quality Burrito.
What is the best thing about your spot? Summer.
What is the worst? Spring, fall and winter. And automobile traffic.
A little known fact about where you live? The early 90’s music scene started here, then went north to Seattle.
Where is your favorite place in the world? Italy
Who are your three favorite photographers? Larry Sultan, Robert Frank and Eugene Smith. But ask me tomorrow and I’ll probably give you an entirely different list.
