Place your Instagrams were taken? Vancouver

Can you sum up the place you live? Vancouver is a west coast city that enjoys both cosmopolitan and nature vibes. Think downtown to the mountains in 15 minutes flat.

What is a perfect day in Vancouver? A perfect day would kick off with great espresso from one of the many cafes in town. After getting caffeinated, we would head to a nearby nature spot to explore and photograph. As with all photo adventure days with friends, they always end with a great meal.

How long have you been using Instagram? I’ve been on Instagram since 2012.

Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras or both? I shoot with both iPhone and my micro four thirds “big camera”.

What is your editing process? My latest workflow involves a first-pass through Snapseed followed by VSCOcam to apply a filter and other final adjustments.

Do you create images outside of Instagram? Yes I do. For big camera uncropped photos, I post to my Tumblr and often push those images to Facebook and Twitter.

Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? Instagram has most definitely changed the way I approach photography. Previously, photography was event or task based. Now, I’m always on the lookout for photo opportunities, wherever I am.

Can you give a couple tips to aspiring Instagram photographers? 1. Even though shooting digital is ‘free’, it’s advantageous to be intentional about what you’re shooting and your composition. 2. Shoot and post what interests you.

Who are your three favorite Instagrammers? @jongsunpark_, @maurice & @othellonine
