A Lot To Love by Colby Brown in Denver, Colorado, USA

The Capital Building in Denver is one of the most iconic pieces of architecture that we have in the city. Located just south east of down town Denver, the Capital Building is easily accessible, very aesthetically pleasing and extra gorgeous in the winter, which is when this image was taken.

Denver is a beautiful but small city by metropolitan standards. With a population of slightly more then 600,000 in the greater Denver area, there is still plenty of room to spread out and stay comfortable… even when you live near downtown. With its close proximity to the Rockies, fairly mild climate and outdoor friendly nature… there is a lot to love about living in Denver.

A perfect day in Denver? Fall is my favorite time of the year. With a nice crisp breeze and the beauty of the changing Aspens around Denver, it is easy to understand why I love it so much. Denver is known for its sunshine, so even in Winter, we will have beautiful blue skies most of the time. On average, we get over 300 days of sunshine a year… which is more then Miami and San Diego.

If someone was visiting, what must they do? There are a lot of great parks worth checking out in the Greater Denver Area. From Washington Park just south of down town to Roxborough State Park at the South End of Denver to Barr Lake which is located in the North East. If you have the time, there is plenty to see and do (and capture).

A perfect meal? Denver actually has pretty good culinary scene, although my favorite meal is hand down a Big Fish Burrito at Illegal Petes, which is located in downtown Denver.

What is the best thing about your spot? The weather, people and location to some of the most gorgeous landscapes in the lower 48 states.

What is the worst? Traffic on i25 can be brutal.

A little known fact about where you live? Denver sits at an altitude of 5280ft. While this is largely known, most do not realize that drinking alcohol at high altitudes can actually get you intoxicated much faster. You have been warned 😉

Where is your favorite place in the world? Nepal. Mountains are my mecca. My place of peace and it doesn’t get any better then the Himalayas.

Who are your three favorite photographers? Three of my favorite photographers these days would be Chas GlatzerElia Locardi and Patric Di Fruscia.
