Foreign by Paul Phung in London, UK

This particular photograph relates quite well to how I feel quite foreign still to this city, I can’t really pinpoint exactly where it was taken but it was somewhere in central London, when I first moved here I spent the first few months just exploring the city and this photo was from one of those days.

Name:Paul Phung

Place you live: London

Place your photo was taken: Somewhere in central London

Can you sum up London? I’ve been living in London now for about two years and there’s still so much more of this city I still need to see, there’s something for everyone here.

Occupation: For now I’m a freelance photographer.

Preoccupation: Trying to make music

A perfect day in London? For me probably is to shoot, get drunk then sleep.

If someone was visiting, what must they do? If you’re here during the summer then I would definitely check out Franks Bar in Peckham, make sure it’s a sunny day though. Franks Bar is basically a bar on top of a car park and it has the best view of London to get drunk to.

Also, two bookshops you need to check out are Claire de Rouen located just behind Tottenham Court Road station and Donlon Books at Broadway Market.

A perfect meal in London? On the rare occasion I do eat out, I always go to the Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsland Road.

What is the best thing about your spot? There is always something to do.

What is the worst? On a sunny day and you’re trapped in the underground in rush hour.

A little known fact about where you live? The most popular tube suicide time is 11 am

Where is your favorite place in the world? My Bedroom
