A perfect day in Skagit Valley? If you do one of the things I mention in the next answer that’d make for a pretty perfect day.

If someone was visiting, what must they do? Eat donuts at the Donut House in Anacortes, drink beers and eat oysters at the Old Edison Inn in Bow, drive up Chuckanut, take a hike, eat jalapeno poppers whilst throwing back dollar shots of whisky and/or tequila at the Train Wreck in Burlington, visit the San Juan Islands, or if you don’t have a lot of time visit Guemes Island… take the walk on ferry and eat lunch at Anderson’s General Store. Breathe in the salty air, eat fresh berries if they are in season and look up in the sky to see bald eagles, herons, hawks and swans.

A perfect meal? Skagit Valley Food Co-op‘s salad bar is the best salad bar in the country.

What is the best thing about your spot? The people, the produce and the quiet.

What is the worst? Anything that you find in Burlington right off of I-5 (big box stores, bleh)

A little known fact about where you live? The bridge that takes you across the Swinomish Channel and into Anacortes/Fidalgo Island is named after my grandfather “The Duane Berentson Bridge”.

Where is your favorite place in the world? The Marin Headlands outside of San Francisco

Who are your three favorite photographers? Ben BloodChristian Sorensen HansenKyle Johnson
