Can you sum up Denver? Colorado is a wild state. It’s home to 56 mountains at 14,000 feet and millions of acres of forest land to explore. My wife and I live in Denver, which is just at the base of the Front Range. It’s a great city that is changing constantly for the good, for the most part.

What is a perfect day in Denver? My wife and I love waking up on Saturdays and taking Aspen, our dog, up into the mountains. We typically stop at Black Eye Coffee for a coffee to go and then head up to Lookout Mountain, Boulder Canyon, or Idaho Springs for a day spent hiking, fishing and relaxing amongst these mountains.

If Denver was a person or character who would it be and why? Denver feels like a 13 year old kid that has no idea who it wants to be and is going through some serious growing pains. I know that might sound negative in some ways, but it is because there’s construction everywhere, but there’s great new places popping up every day… really great coffee, bars and cafes. Denver is a city of transplants and has such a tight knit creative community. It’s a big, small city.

How long have you been using Instagram? I’ve been using Instagram for almost two years now.

Do you shoot with your phone or other cameras or both? I shoot with a variety of cameras. If I’m on the trails I’ll use my iPhone with a moment lens to keep weight down, other times I’m using a medium format film camera and a few Sony digital cameras.

What is your editing process? I use VSCO on my iPhone and if I’m using my computer I use Lightroom with VSCO.

Has Instagram/phoneography affected how you shoot? It definitely has. Up until recently, I shot thinking about how an image would crop into a square. Now that instagram has updated that, I feel a lot more freedom.

Can you give a couple tips to aspiring Instagram photographers? Shoot often. Share often. Be yourself. It’s about your life, not the amount of likes.

Who are your three favorite Instagrammers? @chrisburkard, @camp4collective, @billyjackbrawner3
