Zu-Reich by Julie Joliat in Zurich, Switzerland

“Zu-reich” is the first thing that pops-up in my head, (reich means rich in German). It s a place where you feel people have a lot of money, but at the same time has a very good alternative scene to it. The quality of life here equals no other cities I think; you can take a lunch break and go swim in the river or in the lake in the middle of the city. Unfortunately summer is short, but you are really close to a beautiful nature and the mountains if you need to escape the city. The downside is the people, it is hard to integrate.

Preoccupation: Healthy living

A perfect day in Zurich? When it’s warm, so in summer hopefully, walk along the river and go for a swim in Werdinsel or Unterletten. Have a bbq there on in a park. In colder times I would suggest to go see some galleries, or to the museum, go to some openings and eat in a nice place like OkiRosso or Alpenrose. Go for an aperitif  at Xenix, then a concert at El Lokal.

For the visitor? Walk through the old town, Niederdorf, swim in the river or the lake if summer.

A perfect meal in Zurich? (I am not sure if I call it home, yet), but I would suggest a wurst (sausage) at Sternen Grill.

What is the best thing about the place you live? Being able to quickly go for a swim

And the worst? People not being very open, or is it the language?

A little known fact about Zurich? It is one of the best cities in the world for quality of life.

Where is your favorite place in the world? Good question, still trying to figure out, I love Holland, I love California, and I think Switzerland is pretty good too.
